Losing weight isn’t only about willpower. Hormones, blood sugar, sleep, stress, medications and age all change how your body holds on to weight. When you’ve done everything right and the scale still won’t move, that’s a medical question, and it deserves a medical answer.
Our program starts by finding out what’s getting in the way, then builds a plan around it. Medication can be part of that plan, but it’s one tool, not the whole thing.
Not sure it’s right for you? That’s what the consultation is for. Book a consultation

GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP medications have changed medical weight loss, and they’re often the first thing people ask about. Here’s what they do, who they’re for and how we keep them safe.
Wondering if GLP-1 is right for you?
We’ll review your history and labs at your consultation and give you an honest answer.
They mimic hormones your body already makes after you eat, which helps with appetite and blood sugar.
GLP-1/GIP medications act on two of these hormones instead of one.
They're generally for adults who meet one of these:
They aren’t right for everyone, including people who are pregnant or have a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers. Your history and labs decide.
The most common side effects are nausea, constipation and other stomach upset, usually early on or after a dose increase.
That keeps side effects manageable for most people, and we change course if a medication isn’t working for you.
Medication is one tool, not the whole plan. Most people do best combining it with the nutrition and activity changes in their plan, which is also what helps keep the weight off later.
Medications are prescribed only when appropriate after a consultation and lab work. Individual results vary.
Straight answers to what people ask most. Anything else, ask us at your consultation.
Still deciding?
Call the front desk and we’ll help you figure out whether the program is a fit.
It starts with your health, not a meal plan. We look at your labs, medications, hormones and history to find what’s making weight loss hard, then build a plan with a provider who checks in and adjusts it over time. Medication is an option when it’s appropriate.
No. Some people do well with a medical plan for nutrition, activity and accountability alone. If medication makes sense for you, we’ll go over the options, benefits and side effects before you decide.
Generally adults with a BMI of 30 or higher, or 27 or higher with a weight-related condition such as high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes or high cholesterol. GLP-1 medications aren’t right for everyone, including people who are pregnant or have a personal or family history of certain thyroid cancers. We confirm at your consultation and with lab work.
We review your health history, past weight loss attempts, current medications and goals, take baseline measurements and order labs. You’ll leave knowing your next steps. Visits can be in person at our Tucson office or by video.
Labs show what a scale can’t, like thyroid function, blood sugar, cholesterol and hormone levels. They help us choose a plan that’s safe for you and track how your body responds over time.
Every 4 weeks, in person at our office or by telehealth, with support between visits if questions come up.
The most common are nausea, constipation, diarrhea and reduced appetite, usually early on or after a dose increase. We start at a low dose, increase slowly and check in regularly, and we adjust or stop a medication if it isn’t working for you.
Your initial consultation is $150. After that, plans start at $225 a month and include your monthly follow-up visit, medication, supplies, a Styku 3D body scan and a nutrition plan. We don’t bill insurance for visits, so pricing is clear up front with no surprise claims. HSA and FSA cards are accepted.
Yes. Your consultation and check-ins can be in person at our Tucson office or by video, whichever works better for you. All of your visits can be done online if needed. Styku 3D body scans can only be done in our office.
Weight can come back when medication stops, especially without new habits in place. That’s why your plan includes nutrition and activity changes from the start, and why we plan any step-down with you rather than stopping suddenly.
Let’s discuss your concerns and what you’re hoping to achieve. Book a consultation online, or call us for help scheduling.
